[Film Indonesia] London Love Story

London Love Story is a romantic Indonesian film released in 2016, directed by Asep Kusdinar and written by Sukhdev Singh and Tisa TS. The film stars Dimas Anggara, Michelle Ziudith, Dion Wiyoko, Adila Fitri, Yunita Siregar, Ramzi, Aron Ashab, Ina Marika and Irene Librawati. The film tells the story of four different people who meet and fall in love in London.

Plot Summary

Dave (Dimas Anggara) is heartbroken after his girlfriend left him without explanation. He meets Adelle (Adila Fitri), who is about to commit suicide. Meanwhile, Caramel (Michelle Ziudith) is a part-time pizza worker and a student at one of the universities in London. She is hiding from someone from her past. Bima (Dion Wiyoko) is a photographer who likes Caramel. Fate brings these four people together and brings some surprises into their lives.

Reception

London Love Story was well received by the audience and critics. The film was praised for its cinematography, soundtrack, and chemistry between the actors. The film was also successful at the box office, earning Rp 39.3 billion. The film was nominated for several awards, such as Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Soundtrack, and Best Original Song at the 2016 Indonesian Film Festival. The film won the awards for Best Soundtrack and Best Original Song for "Tetap Dalam Jiwa" by Isyana Sarasvati.

Sequels

London Love Story was followed by two sequels: London Love Story 2 (2017) and London Love Story 3 (2018). The sequels continued the story of Dave and Caramel's relationship, as well as the other characters' lives. The sequels were also directed by Asep Kusdinar and written by Sukhdev Singh and Tisa TS.
